We are excited about the ongoing and positive relationship with Sigma, a leading Australian pharmacy wholesale and distribution business. By working together on a number of projects, we have been able to foster close ties with Sigma and look forward to this relationship growing in the future.

Through one of its subsidiary retail brands, AMCAL, Sigma provided significant support this National Carers Week, producing a powerful video which highlighted the role of caring in Australia. Not only did the video help raise awareness in the lead up to and throughout the Week, but AMCAL also pledged to donate $1 to Carers Australia for every time the video was shared.

Sigma has also recently committed to becoming a Platinum Sponsor of the 7th International Carers Conference and in doing so has provided valuable support to enable us to continue working towards producing an exciting and comprehensive event.

Carers Australia CEO, Ara Cresswell, also recently attended the 2016 Sigma Supplier Gala Dinner and Awards in Melbourne on behalf of Carers Australia, which had been chosen as the beneficiary of the fundraising that evening for the second year in a row.

This very generous offer of financial support was combined with the AMCAL support of National Carers Week and culminated in a significant cheque donation enabling us to continue our work around the provision of supports and services for Australia’s 2.7 million unpaid carers.

The theme of the Gala Dinner was fairy-tale and fantasy characters, and Ara was only too happy to get into the spirit of things, dressing as fantasy character, Maleficent!

We look forward to growing our relationship with Sigma to the benefit of our supports, services and advocacy work on behalf of Australia’s carers.
