7th International Carers Conference - Early Bird registration closing 4 August

Posted August 2, 2017

The 7th International Carers Conference brings together national and international experts who will give insights into intelligent, futuristic and inclusive technology, pioneering innovations, the digital health revolution, lived carer experience and leading-edge research.

“Globally we are heading towards a tipping point for unpaid family caring where there will be more people needing care than carers willing to take on the role,” said Ara Cresswell, CEO of Carers Australia.

“We need to take stock of where we are and to reimagine what caring will look like into the future.

“For the International Conference, we have attracted some of the most innovative and thought‑provoking keynotes across a range of areas, most of whom have lived experience.

“Delegates will be able to access some of the most brilliant minds in current caring research and successful national and international services and programs.

“Our concurrent session program incorporates more than 120 papers, including workshops and symposia across the three days. Two thirds of the program regards the Australian experience, but we also have presenters from New Zealand, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Ireland, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan and Israel.

“Concurrent session topics are aligned to the four major themes – innovation, challenges, new opportunities and partnerships – and are wide-ranging: young carers, mental health care, carer wellbeing, aged care, work and care, dementia care, research, technology and more.

“Networking opportunities throughout the conference include a huge exhibition zone that will showcase services and products, the Welcome Reception and a Gala Dinner featuring Australian comedian Denise Scott.”

The conference will be held at the Adelaide Convention Centre 4 to 6 October. Early Bird registrations close on Friday 4 August. Visit the Carers Australia website to register http://www.carersaustralia.com.au/international-conference/registrations/
