Centrelink and Medicare co-locate

December 21, 2009

Minister for Human Services, the Hon Chris Bowen, MP has announced that Medicare, Centrelink, CRS Australia, Australian Hearing and Child Support Agency offices across the country will begin to co-locate and share a single phone number and website.

The changes will also potentially improve how carers interact with these agencies as under the new arrangements a single phone number will connect carers to the appropriate agency. The government predicts 20 co-located offices by the end of 2010 and around 40 by 2012.
